La Ley Jones también otorga al marinero lesionado el derecho a demandar al empleador por daños y perjuicios por dolor y sufrimiento.

Los pagos del acuerdo de la Ley Jones deben cubrir:

  • Todos sus gastos médicos;
  • Pérdida de salarios e ingresos;
  • Pérdida de servicios domésticos;
  • Daños por dolor y sufrimiento;
  • Pérdida del disfrute de la vida cuando corresponda.
